TSUCI Successfully Held the 2017 Teaching Seminar on Chinese Teaching in Houston

On November 5th, the 2017 Sharing Session on Local Chinese Teaching in Houston was successfully held at TSUCI. TSUCI invited five native Houston-based teachers with a wealth of teaching experience to his sharing session. The invited teachers shared respectively on American Chinese classroom management skills, teaching resources and tools, and exchanges between Chinese cuture and American culture.

In order to provide more teaching support to volunteer teachers and improve teaching quality, as well as to provide mutual understanding and mutual learning opportunities between Chinese teachers in Houston, TSUCI invited teachers Jinyue Zhu from Top Star Academy, Ling Zhang from The Rhodes School for Performing Arts-NW, and Yueru Huang from the Mandarin Immersion Magnet School, Wen Chen from Kolter Elementary and Tian Ding from Garden Oaks Montessori Magnet as guest speakers.

The guest speakers’ sharing won the applause of everyone. Chinese volunteer teachers unanimously said that they learned a lot from the sharing session of these five teachers because the content of sharing is what they really need. During the break, honored guests also discussed the situation and the experiences of Chinese teaching in their respective schools.

During the tea break at the sharing meeting, Prof. Xiao Yi took out a box of beautiful birthday cake, to celebrate birthday of five Chinese volunteer teachers and foreign director Dr Roger Hart, who were born in November. Everyone here also wrote a sincere greeting on the prepared birthday card. The Chinese volunteer teachers hold the birthday cake and said they felt the warmth and care.
