TSUCI Educational Conference Trip to the University of Kentucky Confucius Institute

On October 21 and 22, TSCUI participated in a educational training. The TSUCI was the largest staff in attendance at the educational conference.
In the sub-forum lecture portions of the training, volunteer teachers participated fully in the discussions that were held, and interacted actively with the teachers.
Zhijie Ren, a volunteer teacher at Texas Southern University Confucius Institute ZhiJie Ren found this conference to be beneficial as the information given was invaluable to his graduate studies. The two have talked about the need of teaching of Chinese characters. Stressing the lack of the research of Chinese character teaching and the importance of Chinese teaching, Dr Ruan expressed his support for the research on Chinese character teaching.
The Chinese volunteer teachers of TSUCI not only enriched their theoretical knowledge of Chinese teaching, but also had a renewed interest in the teaching practice; The Chinese volunteer teachers not only tasted the authentic KFC, but also had a home cooked meal.The Confucius Institute at the Texas Southern University always attaches the importance of professional knowledge and capacity of each volunteer teacher, and actively organizes and participates in training to build a more professional faculty.
